The Yackandandah Museum invites you to visit us and browse the exhibition spaces.

GOLD | photographic display of local puddling,  sluicing and barges

CORONATION CELEBRATIONS | artefacts + records of events related to local celebrations of King Edward VII’s coronation

When you have finished viewing the exhibitions you can wander through to the rear of the museum to visit the fully furnished 1850’s Bank of Victoria manager’s residence.

Come to the museum and see our new exhibition on the Yackandandah Brass Band. Over time the band was also referred to as the Yackandandah Citizens Band and Yackandandah District Band. Some of the original instruments are on display as well as various other objects and information.

We are holding a ‘mini’ exhibition about bicycles. This coincides with the Cycle Salute events happening throughout our region in October and November. Part of the display are a group of photos of a bicycle race in Yackandandah, possibly at Butson Park. If anyone knows any details about this race we would love to hear from you.

Currently we have a new exhibition of mystery objects from our collection. Over the Christmas holidays visitors to the museum will be invited to identify these objects, found in our entry room,  and what they were used for. Further in our museum there are more of these objects with explanatory signage. Do you know what the objects are? Can you guess? Maybe you could tell us more?

  1. My wife and I visited the museum on the way to Melbourne from Warwick, Queensland and were bowled over to see an exhibition on Bootmakers which incuded her great great grandfather, Andrew Nette.
